It has been known for a long time that video conferencing makes a substantial contribution to conservation. Every business trip that can be saved by video conferencing reduces the CO2 emissions caused by a flight.
ViDOFON is convinced that conservation and the sustainable use of our resources are of great importance. For this reason special attention was given to environmentally-friendly constructions when choosing the new premises.
The building in Kellerbleek was designed by the architect Jan Cousin at the beginning of the 1990's in accordance with biological viewpoints.
Approx. 50 % lower energy demand
- No air-conditioning, therefore green roofs, building materials with a temperature saving function and a sophisticated ventilation system. Air circulates through the building through a thermal effect.
- Rooms heated by radiative heating surfaces instead of convection heaters; Calorific value gas central heating in the attic with the least possible emission of pollutants and low waste heat.
- The outer walls consist of two shells: the hollow between the shells is packed with insulating flakes made of waste paper.
Reduced consumption of drinking water
- Rainwater collected from all the roofs and saved in cool, dark, underground concrete tanks is fed by small pumps into a water grid separate from drinking water for flushing the toilets. In this way, at least 400,000 litres of drinking water are saved per year.
Healthy working environment
- As far as possible natural lighting by many windows (with thermal insulation glass) and glass roofs.
- Rooms arranged around the bright and spacious staircase to avoid bleak, long office corridors.
- Mineral wall paint and natural wood varnish
- Wooden floors, coconut and wool fibre carpets
Technical facilities have also been taken into consideration with all these ecological viewpoints. Three new conference rooms that can be rented are equipped with the latest media technology. Thus, apart from our obligatory video conferencing facilities you will find sophisticated lighting and audio technology as well as professional media controls that provide a perfect telepresence experience.
